A central mission of BINJ is to directly connect with the communities we serve as much as possible—not just to use our audience as a one-way feedback mechanism, but as the living embodiment of our strong belief that journalism is the linchpin of a democratic society.

We want to organize our readers, our reporters, and the publishers we work with into an interactive network. To this end, we formed a BINJ Community Advisory Board (CAB) with a core group of a dozen nonprofit community organizations and labor unions.
