The purpose of this training is to help you understand your role in complying with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Individuals who work with protected health information as well as personally identifiable information in education records must be aware of what is allowed and what is NOT allowed to do under HIPAA and FERPA rules. This module provides training on how to handle sensitive medical and education-related information.
