PPE required for the Sample Management station include:
Surgical mask
Gloves
The sample manager will forward completed test cards, timers, and test documentation forms to the analyzer station for processing.
Allow the test to develop (incubate) for no less than 15 minutes before interpretting the results.
CAUTION: Incorrect results may occur if development time is less than 15 minutes.
NOTE: After processing the swab in the extraction reagent, the sample should be analyzed within 30 minutes.
The result is determined to be negative when the control line is pink-purple and no line is seen in the sample window.
The result is determined to be positive when the control line is pink-purple and there is a pink-purple line in the sample window.
The following results are determined to be invalid and should be repeated:
No lines are seen.
Pink-purple line is only seen in the sample window.
Control line remains blue
Control line remains blue and sample window shows a pink-purple line.
Initial the documentation that you have carefully read the results.
If the result is negative, circle Negative on the documentation in black ink, provide data entry person with the documentation form.
If the result is positive, circle Positive on the documentation using a highlighter, walk the result to the data entry person and notify them of the positive result.
If the result is invalid, note the documentation appropriately, walk the result to the data entry person and notify them of the need to retest the individual.
Dispose of the test card and swab in biohazard waste.
Disinfect timers, hard surfaces, and gloved hands after each test is complete.
Change gloves if soiled or damaged.
