Timing and working in collaboration with the sample manager is important to a smooth testing procedure.
Before accepting a person at your station, make sure the sample manager has a test card open and ready to accept a swab.
When the person to be tested arrives at your table, take their labels (3) and verify their name and date of birth.
Take one label and place it on the testing document.
Open the swab.
Place the label on the stick end of the swab like a flag.
Instruct the person being tested to use hand sanitizer.
Once the swab is withdrawn from the nasal cavity, the sample manager should retrieve the swab touching only the stick at the label.
DO NOT RETURN THE SWAB TO ITS ORIGINAL PACKAGING. THIS IS A CHANGE FROM THE PREVIOUS SYSTEM.
Instruct the person being tested:
Use hand sanitizer again
A text message will be sent within an hour with their result.
Exit out the doors near the windows.
Insert the sample swab into the bottom hole.
Push firmly upward so that the swab tip is visible in the top hole.
Rotate the swab shaft 3 times clockwise.
Do not remove the swab.
Peel off the adhesive liner from the right edge of the test card
Close and securely seal the card.
Attach label to right side like a flag.
Use sanitizer on hard surfaces and gloved hands before accepting the next person to be tested.
Change gloves if they are soiled or damaged.
