How did the TLI experience--both curriculum and Capstone project—impact your growth as a teacher leader in each of your four chosen competencies?

Taking on this journey has allowed me to grow in relationships that I never thought I would have. I am so excited to continue to be an advocate for new PE teachers in our district, giving them tools that will allow them to be successful. I am eager to continue to enhance our curriculum, Health and PE, within our curriculum team. This adventure has pushed me to stand tall and listen to other colleagues and what their needs are in our district.

What are your next steps to continue your growth as a teacher leader?

In order for me to continue my growth as a teacher leader I will need to stay committed to our Curriculum team. I will look for ways to offer and provide valuable professional development for teachers in our district. (Evidence #1) I will continue my education to help enhance my teaching (Evidence #2). I also would like to be more of a leader within my own school, serve on our technology team and be the voice for our teachers within our PTA (Evidence #3).

What was the most valuable part of the TLI process for you?

My biggest take away from TLI would be the relationships I have created with other educators over the state of Montana. Engaging in our TLI monthly zooms allowed me to be inspired by other educators around the world! I am thankful for this journey as it has allowed me to explore my communication skills on a personal and professional level. It has also opened my eyes to know that everyone has their own story and I am no one to judge them but to be there to listen and offer help when needed.
