A piece of work is not often perfect first go. It’s a good idea to seek feedback from your advisor or mentor and to produce a few drafts.
Fix anything that is not clear and add in any missing pieces. Insert pictures or diagrams, tidy up the layout.
Most importantly, sort out any spelling mistakes because they really detract from all your hard work.
Ask a friend or your advisor to do a proof (final check) of your work and get sign-off from your advisor. Put this in a folder called FINAL. Then if it’s text-based work, export it as a PDF so it cannot be altered or messed up in any way and is ready for uploading when you need it in Term 3 or 4.
This is not as tedious as it sounds. It just means:
If you’re having a great time on a leaving to learn experience, take some PHOTOS, or write some REFLECTIONS
If you’re making a product, or learning a process, take VIDEOS to show how something works
Take PHOTOS of early versions, or the steps you went through, and make NOTES about the key things you learnt at the time.
Below is an example of all the photos William took while he was working on his Senior Project which was to build a couple of wooden storage cabinets for his advisory.
You'll be so grateful to yourself later, when looking for content for your portfolio.
It’s all valuable EVIDENCE that will make your work really credible and impress end-viewers.
