- How does this plant depend on these other plants and animals?
- How does this plant influence its environment?
- Complete weekly entry in field journal

- What are some of the local rocks in our area (around Butte county)?
- How were they formed (are they sedimentary, metamorphic, or igneous)?
- How do our mountain ranges in California influence our climate?
- What is the state rock of California? What kind of soil does it produce, and how is this important to the plants and animals living in these areas?
- What are mycorrhizae, and why are they so crucial for plant survival and growth?
