Accessing School documents and Student Resources from Home - Home Access Plus+ (HAP)

You can access your school documents and the student resources shared drive from home by using Home Access Plus+ (HAP).

You can download and upload files and folders from using HAP. Note that the very first time you log into HAP, it may take a minute or two to load, this is normal, please be patient.

Q: How can I use Home Access Plus+ to access my documents at home?

A: Navigate to the ‘External Student Portal’ in the top right of the Bideford College website and click the HAP+ (Home Access Plus+) icon, or click here.

Q: What are my login details?

A: These are your usual school username and password, i.e. the ones that you use to log into the school computers. Do not use your email address. If you’ve forgotten your password and need a reset please contact your tutor.

Q: How do I download files?

A: Navigate to the file or folder you wish to download, then right click and select ‘Download’

Q: How do I upload files?

A: Navigate to the folder that you wish to upload to, then, in the blue bar at the top, select ‘Upload’ then ‘Choose Files’, and browse for the file on your device.

Q: Why can't I open the files that I have downloaded?

A: You must have the correct software on your machine to be able to work on any documents that you download. For example you will need Office Word, or another compatible editor to work on .docx files. Note that you can use Google Docs to open up word documents, Google Sheets to open up Excel spreadsheets, and Google Sheets to open PowerPoint presentations.
