The Madrigal Singers features a Madrigal Choir and a Ladies-in-Waiting Choir that sing at the culminating activity, the Madrigal Dinner, held annually at OFHS in December. The choirs sing Old English carols and English, French, and Italian Madrigal music in Renaissance garb.
At this Madrigal Dinner, there is also another group involved: A Madrigal Drama troupe. This usually involves a Jester and a Wench and they entertain the audience and keep the original storyline of the Madrigal Dinner moving in its hilarity.
Each of the Madrigal groups is open by audition only. The Madrigal Singers audition in early May and the Madrigal Drama auditions in November.
"Good friends and fair, good friends and fair
Soon the pomp and pageantry we all will share!
The colors will stun, the music we'll sing, and the trumpets will sound
Hie thee hence, into the hall with a bound! ~Jester
