Supplemental Special Educational Services (SSES) are free of cost to parents. The overall goal of SSES programs at Black Horse Pike Regional School District, during the summer of 2023, is to improve student academic performance.
Students that have a current Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and or participate in Special Programs within the Black Horse Pike Regional School District are eligible to participate.
Summer Supplemental Options for students to “catch up”
Summer Math Bridge Program
A certified Math teacher conducts sessions three times per week in July focusing on
giving student mathematical enrichment to help them avoid a “summer slide”
Summer English Bridge Program
Small group sessions three times per week that focus on literacy skill-building in
preparation for 9 th grade courses giving them a head start on their summer reading
assignment.
Summer School Remediation in the following courses:
Health/PE
English I, II & III
World History & US History I
Algebra, Geometry Algebra II
Physics & Chemistry
Summer APEX Learning for Original Credit
Summer Reading Enhancement program (by invitation only)
During the school year:
Reading Specialists in Literacy Labs
Designed to strengthen and support essential literacy skills to better equip our students
for success in school, career and life
Math Tutors live in school and online for extra help
Located in the LMC of each school, these tutors are available for any and all students for
help with math homework or concepts
Literacy Café (after school)
Small group sessions after school to teach students research skills and other relevant
skills in English as well as offering coffee and snacks.
Student Success Coach in each school
A specialized instructional support teacher for struggling students by focusing on
academic skill-building (e.g. organization, communication, and time management) which
will equip them to attain academic success.
