In class extra credit is awarded on an impromptu basis and normally as additional points on either a lab activity or classwork.
Out of class extra credit is awarded for almost any science related project. It must be an original and agreed upon ahead of time. Samples of what can be done are provided below.
There is a limit of 5% total increase on a quarter grade from the accumulation of any extra credit work.
Returned quizzes can be "corrected" and returned in 7 calendar days or 5 school days (if later) from the day your quiz is returned. You can earn 3/4 credit back. However, you must explain the concept(s) you learned or fixed between the first take & the submitted corrections to get that credit.
Corrected questions that do not explain the learned and/or fixed concepts will not receive points.
To reassess a "test" you must first submit an official request linked here & have completed all the classwork and homework up to that point. Test reassessments require evidence of improvement sought before the re-take will be granted (see request form)
Your test reassessment grade will replace the original grade. For better or worse.
You have 7 calendar days or 5 school days (if later) from the day your test is returned to complete the reassessment
If you miss your appointment to reassess the request will not be granted
