Ig Nobel Prize Extra Credit Assignment

Worth 10% on a test grade of your choosing (limit 1 per school year)

Purpose: To learn about and share current research being done in the world of chemistry

Task: Go to the website for the Ig Nobel Prizes which are awarded every fall. Browse the list of current winners and find a Science related award. Summarize what that award was given for in your own words in one concise paragraph. Look up past winners in the same category and compare at least two to the current winner. You must compare them in terms of how meaningful you think they are to everyday life.

Product: Your one-paragraph summary and comparison with explanation needs to be typed and double-spaced in less than one page. If you pull direct quotes from any source you need to appropriately cite them within your writing and in a mini-works cited.
