Good Afternoon Building Hope Staff,
I wanted to send out a quick reminder that the final phase of our GSuite transition happens this weekend. Over the weekend, we will start using GMail instead of Outlook.
If you check your GMail account now, you will see that all emails from your Outlook account from before August 16 are now in your Gmail account. The rest of your email will be transferred this weekend. We will start this process on Saturday and it will take a while for this to finish, but it should be done by Monday morning.
Any new emails sent to you after Friday night will be only delivered only to your Gmail account.
Your calendar and contacts will be copied with your email this weekend as well. We have tested the Calendar items, and it looks like everything is copied over. Previously I had warned that there might be some items that do not copy, but all of the types I tested did work correctly. However, if you depend on your calendar as I do, I would double-check them side by side next week just to be sure.
I would encourage you to access your Gmail Account this week, and make sure you know how to get into the account before next week to avoid any downtime in your productivity. If you have issues accessing your account, please let me know or open a ticket with DNS. I would also encourage you to install the GMail application on your phones or other devices that you use. DNS has provided information on how to do this (Click here).
For those of you who work out of the DC office, DNS will have someone onsite on Tuesday morning next week to assist you with any issues have during the transition (given that many of you are still working from home on Monday, we decided Tuesday would be more advantageous than Monday).
Outlook will still be available for reference for several weeks. However, no new messages will be delivered there.
I have created a very basic Google Site where I will post some tips/tricks and how-to videos. You can find that here: https://sites.google.com/bhope.org/bh-it/home The current list of videos I have there are:
If you have any questions, please let me know.
