Driver's Testing

You MUST have passed 4 classes the preceding semester before applying for a permit.

  • You MUST NOT have accumulated 9 or more unexcused absences.

  • After you have received your permit, you must continue to meet the above requirements. If you do not, your name will be turned in to the state department as non-compliant and your permit/license will be suspended.

  • The permit/license can not be reinstated until a semester has passed.

WHAT MUST I BRING WITH ME TO APPLY FOR A PERMIT OR LICENSE?

  • Your social security card, which has not been laminated.

  • An original or certified copy of your birth certificate.

  • The parent or legal guardian of applicants under the age of 18 must sign the application. (A legal guardian must have a certified copy of guardianship papers.)

  • No Pass/No Drive Form (also known as school compliance verification form). See your counselor to obtain a copy of the school compliance verification form.

  • Loss of license or permit can occur for dropping out of school or for academic deficiency in accordance with KRS 159.051/601 KAR 13:070.
