The National WWII Museum is sponsoring an essay contest for 9-12th graders.
1st place - $1000
2nd place - $750
3rd place - $500
Winning essay is displayed in the museum.
Deadline is December 27.
Museum will accept the first 500 properly formatted entries only. The website will indicate when 500 essays have been submitted.
Berea College recognizes promising students with the Carter G. Woodson Legacy Award, to be presented to students at an on-campus event on Saturday, March, 28, 2020. Students selected for this award will visit Berea College with their families to receive this prestigious honor.
Eligibility: African American juniors who are active in community, school, civic, and/or church organizations, demonstrate financial need, have a cumulative (unweighted) high school GPA of 3.25 or higher, and an ACT range of 20-30 or SAT 1050-1410 or the potential to score in this range, are eligible for this award.
The Governor's Scholars Program strives to enhance Kentucky's next generation of civic and economic leaders. Established in 1983, the program provides academic and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience. Students must complete an application and compete with others from across the state. Those selected attend the program free of charge.
The Commonwealth Honors Academy is an exciting, challenging academic enrichment program for outstanding high school students who have completed their junior year. Since its beginning in 2001, the Commonwealth Honors Academy has welcomed over 1700 students to learn, live, and grow on Murray State’s campus.

The week-long High School Student Congress gathers fifty rising high school seniors together with lawmakers, academics, journalists, and business leaders to learn about the political legacy of Kentucky’s greatest statesman and compromiser, Henry Clay, and how to apply this legacy in every aspect of their academic and professional activities.

At the NSLC, you will participate in interactive, fast paced, hands-on activities designed around the subjects you're most interested in. You will learn about future academic and career possibilities as you go on exciting trips and tours and engage with professionals from within your field of interest. You will develop the knowledge, confidence, and practical leadership skills required to achieve your goals and become a leader in your school and community.
The UK AHEC offers two residential summer camps for current high school students. The Summer Enrichment Program Camp is open to Kentucky-resident rising high school juniors (current sophomores) who attend a school in Kentucky. The Health Researchers Youth Academy Camp is open to Kentucky-resident rising high school seniors (current juniors) who attend a school in Kentucky. Applications are reviewed by a committee of AHEC personnel and partners from the UK campus and around the state. Based on various criteria (letter of recommendation, personal statements, transcript, etc.), invitations are extended to students selected to attend.
