Feature to highlight with students to keep them organized:
"View Your Work" button at the top of the Classwork tab - lists ALL student work in order from most recent to oldest assignments!
"To do list" in the left hand navigation bar - shows you ALL your work across your classrooms
"Calendar" - shows you all your upcoming assignments with a calendar view
Private vs Class Comments - class comments ALL students can see, private comments only the TEACHER can see
Use the STREAM for announcements, student comments, informal discussions, or daily check ins
Organize your CLASSWORK tab by WEEKS instead of subjects/topics. Create topics such as "Week of March 30th", and then all the assignments for the week will be organized and grouped together
If additional staff need to know the assignments and work of students, but won't be posting assignments themselves, add them to the classroom as students (since there can only be 20 teachers in a Google Classroom)
Check Google Classroom daily, and provide feedback to students in a timely manner
Allow student commenting on the class stream in grades 2-5 if students understand how to use it appropriately
