ClassDojo portfolios are an amazing way to assign students with simple learning activities within ClassDojo, and then families can post a photo, video, text, or a drawing to show evidence of their child completing the work! In order to activate this feature, parents need to set up a student account for their child. It's fairly simple, and parents can then just switch between their parent account and their child's student account as needed.

How to make your posts and content look beautiful (use Canva or Lucid Press!)
All of our UCC school students are connected to a classroom on ClassDojo, and nearly 95% of our families regularly log in and check their ClassDojo parent account! This is a successful platform that our families are already engaging in, and we have found parents understand how to use the application and are more likely to communicate with school staff on ClassDojo than through other mediums.
We encourage our staff to reach out to families regularly through ClassDojo, either through posts on the class story, or individual messages.
Preschool - 1st Grade Families:
our youngest students will be receiving all their daily instruction and messaging through the ClassDojo platform.
We encourage teachers to share videos of themselves teaching or greeting students on a regular basis
Utilize the ClassDojo portfolio feature to assign students instructional tasks, and parents can then share photos, videos, or text to show evidence of their child engaging in the the tasks you assigned!

2nd - 8th Grade Families:
Our 2nd-8th grade students all have Chromebooks to learn with at home, and their daily instructional tasks will be shared with students via Google Classroom.
At the beginning of each week, grade levels will share a document showing families ALL the learning tasks students will be expected to engage in throughout the week on ClassDojo. The actual assignments and work will be submitted through Google Classroom.
Specialists and other school staff will share resources and academic tasks through ClassDojo or Google Classroom.
Be aware that the ClassDojo app on your iPhone or Android device functions VERY differently from the web browser version of the program.
App: Can more easily send families images, videos, emojis, or schedule messages within the messages tab
App: Does NOT allow you to view activities created in the portfolio and assigned to students, but you CAN see all student work when you select each individual student
Browser: Allows you to see the full functionality of ClassDojo Portfolios, assign new activities, and organizes student work by activity
Browser: Allows you to see student and parents reports, see who is (and is not) connected, and how long ago they logged in
Browser: Allows you to create codes for parents and students to join the class
Follow these steps:
open YOUR ClassDojo classroom
click on the "INVITE PARENTS" blue button in the upper right hand corner of the screen
Then select "DOWNLOAD PARENT INVITES"
It will download a file on your computer, with one page for each student, the codes are on these pages
Scroll down to the page you need a student code for, and copy and paste the code from that page to give to the parent (or print out the invite!)
