I have been teaching for 24 years in both secondary and elementary schools. I enjoy the outdoors and spend most holidays in the Georgian Bay region. As a father of four children, my wife, Mrs. Legace (our school Chaplain), and I enjoy taking our family out-of-doors engaging in activities like skiing, cycling, canoeing, water-skiing, camping and hiking. As a high school history teacher I have led numerous trips to Europe to visit the Canadian battlefields. The GENESIS program has been the culmination of years of experiences and curriculum researching and writing. I look forward to working with you in attaining your God given potential, developing a relationship with creation and truly coming to know who you are.

Mr. David Cantlon
GENESIS Teacher
Bronze Cross Certified
Avid Sportsman
I am Dave Cantlon. I taught Chemistry and Science at SHHS for 32 years. I am a cradle Catholic, married to the most understanding woman God ever created ! Denise and I have been blessed with 3 children, that have grown into fine adults. Growing up, I spent much of my youth canoeing , hunting and fishing the lakes, rivers and woods of northern Ontario. Today , I continue to enjoy some of the finest hunting and fishing in Bruce and Grey counties, that the province has to offer. Over the course of the semester, every effort will be made to instill the gospel values into the environmental science curriculum and to highlight to students, that the scientific complexities of our world are indeed indicative of the Grace and guidance of our Master creator . Good luck on your journey and remember " there is never a bad day in the field " !
