3) Review the grammar for a grammar quiz on block day next week (Aug. 13-14).

Present tense of the verb gustar
Friday, August 1st: Students completed the Preliminary Unit Exam and they also reaceived the vocab list. Here are the instructions for next week:

You will receive the new Unit 1 Lesson 1 vocab list after the exam. Begin filling out the “yo pienso” column for your guesses of what the word means or the “Es” column if you know what it means. I will post the correct translations on my website. Your homework is to go to my website and copy the correct words (unless everyone finishes the exam early and I provide them at the end of class) and begin working on a minimum of 30 flashcards due next block day: August 6th-7th. Don’t forget to number them (1-30) and use the correct color of ink for your class.
Week 1
Monday, July 21: Students reviewed the syllabus for Spanish 2 as well as the rules and procedures for the class. Here is the homework list:
Learn the rules and procedures for Spanish 2 so that you can be successful. Also, begin memorizing the Charger Way in Spanish.
Fill out electronic syllabus acknowledgement by Friday, July 25th. This will be counted as a homework grade.
Bring a small photo to tape on the daily participation card. This will help me quickly memorize names and help me put names to faces this week. Bring your photo by BLOCK DAY as this will be counted as a homework grade.
Students received a list of advice from former Spanish 2 Students on how to succeed in my class this year, and I recommend that every student carefully read each suggestion in order to avoid challenges ahead.
As we will be interacting in Spanish 99% of the time in class, it is important that you practice the pronunciation of the alphabet since you will be required (some may be extra credit opportunities) to provide the spelling for several words throughout the year. Here is a practice video. Similarly, I recommend that you practice the numbers from 1-100 with this practice video and pay attention to the pronunciation and the spelling for each number.
