The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationwide organization that recognizes high‑achieving students in grades 10–12. Founded in 1921, it honors students who excel in scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
NHS encourages students to grow as leaders and serve their school and community while upholding strong academic and personal standards.
A faculty council selects eligible students based on GPA, service involvement, leadership experience, and demonstrated character.
More than 1.4 million students participate in NHS chapters across the U.S. and its territories.
Members gain access to leadership opportunities, community service programs, and exclusive NHS scholarships.
