Spelling Practice-
-Have students read the words in their spelling notebook.
-Give student a word and have them tell you all the sounds, then write.

-Pick a couple of spelling words a week to look for. When you go to the grocery store or are driving in the car, play I spy to see if you can find them.
- Use scrabble tiles or alphabet magnets to spell out words from their spelling notebook
-Type the words from their spelling notebook onto a computer
-Have them write a sentence for each spelling word
-Play tic-tac-toe but instead of x's or o's use spelling words
-Stairsteps: Write the words as if they are stairs, adding one letter at a time.

-Use a expo marker to write spelling words on a window then erase them one letter at a time
-Use water and a paintbrush to water paint the spelling words.On a hot, sunny day, words disappear quickly
-Use alphabet letter stamps to ‘stamp’ the spelling words, first by looking at the words and then on your own!
-Word Train: Use the letters to have your child create a ‘word train’ by using the last letter of the first word to begin the second word and so on:cat / tap / pan
