Ask the Eagle Eye

Hey Eagle Eye, I’m in 6th grade, and one of the biggest problems in my grade is when everybody’s got their locks and lockers! People in my homeroom are scared that some jerks are going to whammy us, or just get our locks stuck.

-Locker trouble

Hey locker trouble,

It’s ok to be scared to use a lock, I’m in seventh grade so it’s my first time using a locker too! Here’s one way that you can prevent being whammed. Don’t tell anyone your locker combination. If and when your locker gets stuck you can ask a teacher to help you open it. (They're good at that stuff) If your locker gets stuck, go slowly while entering your combination. Spin it to the right a couple of times to “clear it” then start at zero. And like I said, go slow while entering the numbers.

Dear Eagle Eye,

My third-period teacher hates me! I swear, she gives me the evilest looks whenever I even get out of my seat! It's not my fault that PE didn't call us inside! I know I was five minutes late, but it felt not fair at all. Also, my friend was seven minutes late and she didn't get in trouble at all. The five-week mark has come and gone, and now I think I will fail this class. Please help, Eagle Eye! What should I do to make this better?

Sincerely,

Trouble with Teacher

Hey TWT! That sounds bad... The best advice I can give you is to talk to your guidance counselor and/or parents and try to figure out the best way to approach the situation with your 3rd-period teacher. Our guidance counselors are great at handling things like this.

Hope this helps!
