April is Citizen Science Month!
We want to celebrate it by encouraging YOU and your child to engage in a Citizen Science Project for Steam Expo!
Citizen Science is open to ALL and involves curious and concerned people whose individual acts contribute to a collective impact that’s accelerating scientific research, discoveries, and local actions that improve the world. From sharing photos of nature to help communities, planners, and scientists document biodiversity, to browsing images on your computer to help speed up research about Alzheimer's disease, to using your phone to help track microplastic and air quality, each of these Acts of science is important.
Small acts, such as sharing a picture of a bee, can help scientists across the country better understand the population changes of pollinators (which are responsible for one-third of the food we eat). More committed acts, such as reporting weather observations frequently over time, help the National Weather Service improve weather forecasts.
Nobody knows everything, but everybody knows something, and together, we can help solve local, regional, national, and global challenges. Interested? CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE!
