Firman, Jon

Mr. Firman is a proud member of the science department at Bethel High School, where he teaches biology, physical science and forensics.  He obtained his bachelor of science in biology degree from UConn in 2009, and then his master of arts in teaching degree from Sacred Heart University in 2012.  This is Jon's 8th year teaching at BHS and his 12th overall year of teaching; previously, he spent 4 years teaching high school biology, physical science and astronomy at North Haven High School.  Since joining the Bethel community, he has taken on the video game club and the USA Biology Olympiad club, both of which meet after school in his room.  He also works as a staff member with the Bethel High School Marching Band, where he is in his fifth year.  Outside of school, Jon enjoys his side career of singing at church masses and weddings/funerals, as well as performing in community bands and working as the president of the UConn Alumni Marching Band.  Mr. Firman looks forward to continuing his involvement with the Bethel High School community in the coming year!
