We'd love your feedback. Please fill this survey on anything you have questions about regarding the academic restructure.
As Bethel moves toward a new chapter of functioning more like a single university, restructuring how academics are currently working is a crucial first step. The design of the academic structures will be split into two areas, the verticals (schools/colleges) and the horizontals (functional areas).
In the future academic structure, each college or school will house the academic departments/programs of similar disciplines as its own functional area. Each college or school will have a single dean overseeing that area that reports to the provost.
Horizontals are the functional areas of academic affairs that will serve university-wide. These units would be led by an Associate Provost role.
Independent schools grouped largely by student type with little to no overlap with administration, curricula, faculty governance, operations, or affairs.
Four distinct schools grouped by similar disciplines with standardized university-wide functional areas of Academic Systems & Planning and Teaching and Learning.
Below is a breakdown of the vertical structures of each college or school under each dean.
Under the dean will be all non-nursing programs and departments. An Associate Dean will serve as the Chief Nursing Officer and will oversee all of Bethel's nursing programs/departments and Community Health.
Under the dean of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education will be all non-education departments and majors. The Associate Dean of Education will oversee all of Bethel's education programs/departments/licenses.
The dean of the School of Business will oversee all Business majors and programs along with the Communication Studies department and the MBA.
The dean of the School of Theology & Seminary will oversee the undergraduate department of BTS and the Christian Ministries minor, the master's seminary programs, and the doctor of ministry program.
Below is a breakdown of the vertical structures under each associate provost.
Within Academic Systems & Planning would be the Office of the Registrar, Institutional Data & Research, Project Management, and Operations & Logistics.
Within Teaching and Learning would be an Assistant Provost for Faculty Affairs along with the following units: Grants, International Programs, Assessment, Library, Faculty Professional Development, Advising, Academic Support, and Academic Development.
