This project will evaluate the current state of divided academic affairs and operations policy and their associated business processes. This will lead to the design and implementation of a university-wide and standardized academic policy and operational processes whenever possible. This shall reduce redundancies and increase productivity for academic affairs, operations, and adjacent departments.
The goal for this project team is to establish a new alignment of the university's academic operations functions, academic policies, and academic catalog before the start of the 2026-2027 academic year.

Imagine a student having to navigate not just one academic policy but three different variations that contradict each other. This is the problem students would be facing if Bethel kept its current academic policies as they are without standardizing them for the whole university. The policy alignment group is tasked with identifying all current academic policies, evaluating the strengths of each, and then drafting a new aligned policy which should serve all students equally and fairly.
Bethel's Academic Affairs (CAS) and Academic Operations (CAPS/Sem/GS) handle many similar functions for their respective schools with very little overlap or familiarity with the other group. The goal for this area of the project is to develop a single unit which serves much of the current work done by those particular offices.
