New Jersey Math League (NJML)
Series of six 30 minutes contests
Individual and team scores are recognized
Mathematical Association of America (MAA) contest series
America Mathematics Competition (AMC)
Designed for high school students
Held after school
Interested students will be provided information on how to register to participate by their current mathematics teacher before the end of December.

American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME)
Students are invited to participate in this contest by the MAA based on their performance on the AMC
Held during the school day
United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO)
Students are invited to participate in this contest by the MAA based on their performance on the AIME
Held from 12:30 to 5 on two days in April
MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge
This contest gives you the unique opportunity to work on a real problem using each of your team member’s individual math toolkits, as well as problem solving and critical thinking. Teams are presented with a previously unknown problem scenario, and should work together, using the math modeling process to represent, analyze, make predictions and otherwise provide insight into that real-world phenomena and the posed problem’s questions.
Ridge is allowed to have two teams of 3-5 members participate in this competition
Competition rules only allow teams to consist of juniors and seniors
The contest takes place in the spring. Students must reach out to Mr. Boop if interested in forming a team for this challenge.
WAMS Math Contests

Continental Math League (CML)
Series of five contests
2:30 - 3:15 PM in WAMS cafeteria
Mathematical Association of America
The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills.
Held after school, typically in November in WAMS cafeteria

Consists of a 35 multiple choice question taken over 30 minutes
Typically held the second week in February.
