The following information summarizes the steps that follow your Onboarding Appointment. For additional information click on the right hand icon.
Upon completing your Onboarding you will receive a New Hire// Rehire Welcome Email. Here is a sample of the email you may receive.
Find your online Next Steps Checklists. Navigate onto the "Starting a New Job at UC Berkeley" website. Here you will access a list of important actions such as setting up your CalNet ID.
Create your CalNet ID* and set up CalNet 2-Step Verification*
After you create your CalNet ID, you will create your Berkeley email address*
The Cal ID Card (Cal1 Card) is the official campus ID for all employees. Always remember to carry your Cal 1 Card.

Access and update your UCPath Employee Portal*. Employees have the ability to update personal information, update direct deposit, enroll in benefits, etc.
Setting up your direct deposit means you will get your pay quickly and easily. Log onto UCPath to update your personal information.
CalTime is UC Berkeley’s timekeeping system. After onboarding it will take 7-10 business days to gain access.

All eligible UC employees will use UCPath to enroll in benefits.
Eligible employees must enroll or decline benefits during the 31-day period of eligibility. NOTE: if eligible for benefits you will receive an email reminding you to take these actions.

P&T: Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4PM
New employees will need to complete several mandatory training sessions. You will receive an email outlining these training course requirements. You can access these trainings in the UC Learning Center.*
These trainings include Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, Cyber Security Awareness Training, Ethical Values and Conduct Training as well as other one-time trainings related to Covid-19 and emergency regulations.
