Time Management with the Center for Access to Engineering Excellence

Learn best practices for how to manage your busy class schedule, coursework, clubs and student orgs, and social life from Luis Castillo, the Director of the Center for Access to Engineering Excellence (CAEE)!

Meet Marcia Breslin-Cantillana, the program manager for the Berkeley Mentorship Cohort (BMC), who will walk you through the services she and the mentors provide. You'll also get to hear from former PREP students who are now part of the BMC and can speak to how much mentorship has impacted their Berkeley experience.

Research Workshop/Panel Discussion

What is research in the context of academia? Why is it useful for budding engineers? How can students get research opportunities? All of these questions, and more, will be answered during our Research Workshop, where you'll get to hear from other students about the world of engineering research!

Berkeley Career Engagement Workshop

Come visit the Berkeley Career Engagement Center, where you will learn about all of the professional opportunities that Berkeley Career Engagement offers students like you, and learn about how to identify and represent your passion for engineering!

Disabled Students Program Presentation

Learn about all the support, accommodations, and services that Berkeley's Disabled Students Program (DSP) can offer to you. Whether you're interested in joining the program or not sure if you qualify, come meet the wonderful learning specialists from DSP!

Counseling and Psychological Services Presentation

It's important to know what resources you can go to before you need them. That's why two of our amazing counselors from Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will be presenting how you can take advantage of the support system and counseling resources that Berkeley has to offer.

If you've never been to San Francisco, then this is the perfect opportunity for you! We'll be taking a trip to The Exploratorium, an interactive museum/laboratory, and afterward explore some of the amazing lunch and tourist spots that the city has to offer.

Sunset Hike

Enjoy the beautiful scenery that Berkeley and the Bay Area has to offer at our Sunset Hike on the first Sunday of the program. Join us for a beautiful nature walk along the Strawberry Canyon Fire Trails, which is just a short walk from the dorms, led by one of our amazing PREP student staff, Nate Pacheco Lopez.

Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) Trip

A combined art museum, repertory movie theater, and archive for the arts, the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) provides a unique experience that is open to UC Berkeley students and is located right by the UC Berkeley campus. Come and experience appreciation for the arts as we take a trip to BAMPFA!

HES Garden Workshop

Come relax and unwind with the Hispanic Engineers and Scientists (HES) as we learn some gardening basics, pot some succulents, paint some pots, and enjoy a low-key time on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
