What dorms are we staying in and what time should I arrive? Can I arrive early/late?

PREP students will be staying in Unit 2 Griffiths Hall. Move in is on Monday, July 22nd from 3-4pm. You cannot arrive early; if you need to arrive late, you must get approval from Program Manager Britt Mazorra (brittmazorra@berkeley.edu). 

Where is the nearest airport?

The nearest airport is Oakland International Airport. It's about a 20-25 minute car ride from campus. 

What should I bring for the program?

To get a sense of what kinds of things you can bring, check out this Berkeley Housing Move-In Checklist. Since PREP is only 3 weeks long, you won't need everything on this list, so it's up to you what you want to bring.

One thing that's not on the list that you should bring is a professional outfit for the Design Expo. If you don't own one, you can borrow one from us.

Should I bring a laptop or will one be provided?

If you have a laptop, you should definitely bring it! We have a limited supply of laptops that you can borrow if needed.

Can I stay somewhere other than Unit 2 Griffiths Hall?

No, you must stay with the other PREP students in the dorm.

Can I leave during the program?

No, you must stay during the program. If you take a look at the schedule, you'll see that there is not much time for outside activities anyway. If you want to explore the Bay Area on the weekend with some of your friends from PREP, that is fine.
