Common Team Expectations
Students enter class quietly, sit and fill out their assignment log.
Students are dismissed by the teacher, not the bell.
Our classrooms are "NO PHONE ZONES" which includes any watches connected to a cell phone. Parents, please do not call or text your child during the school day. If your child needs to contact you, they will do so through the office. Phones out in class will result in them being taken, a 45 minute after school detention assigned, and the phone returned at the end of the day. The second time a phone is confiscated, a parent will need to come get the phone from school.
Students follow the Titans Pride Matrix of Expectations for behavior; Staff will support and teach those expectations.
First AND last names on paper.
No Homework = No Recess = No Grade (Missing in IC)
Late work is accepted.
Hall passes/Restrooms are not an issue since restrooms are located in our classroom.
Absent Work: Students are to check our team calendar. Then use their Assignment Logs to create a list of what CLASSWORK and HOMEWORK that they need to complete, including copying any notes that they missed.
Vacation and lengthy absent work requests:
All assignments can be found on our team calendar page of this website therefore no work requests to the team are necessary.
We do not post assignments too far ahead as lesson plans frequently change based on student needs.
Use of Demerits/Behavior Processing Sheets
Demerits are used for minor infractions within the classroom that support our building PBIS-Titans Pride Matrix.
First set of 5 demerits within a semester results in a team lunch detention and the student calls home to "tell on themselves."
After the 1st set of 5 demerits, behavioral referrals will be written for "Repeated Acts of Misconduct."
Demerit counts reset to "0" at the end of the first semester for each student.
Classroom Removal Sheets/Behavior Processing will be used when a class can no longer continue due to a student's behavior. The student will be removed from class and complete the Classroom Removal Sheet. This sheet is intended to help process the disruptive behavior.
Teachers do have the option to write a formal Behavioral Referral or conference with the student after completion.
