What is the IB Diploma?

Video About Diploma

  • Enter the IB Diploma Programme your junior year at BHS, and satisfactorily complete all the requirements over the next two years;

  • Throughout the two years, each Diploma student engages in the IB Core of individualized learning that includes an Extended Essay (EE), a Theory of Knowledge (TOK) component, and completion of Creativity/Activity/Service (CAS). The EE and TOK each have assessment components that must be completed satisfactorily;

  • Each Diploma student completes six total IB courses; at least one course from each of the first five Course groups, and three courses at high level (HL).

  • Students ultimately earn the IB Diploma by satisfactorily completing the IB Core requirements, along with earning a minimum of 24 total marks through their IB courses (with a minimum of 12 marks in HL courses).
