THE ELEMENTS OF ART: COLORS 19/20

COLORS!

There are two types of colors, primary colors and secondary colors.

  • Primary colors are: blue, yellow and red.
  • Secondary colors are: green, purple and orange?

Which is the difference?

Secondary colors are those created mixing two primary colors. Let's see examples!

Working on... SALVADOR DALĂ 19/20

Another important artist!

Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech, Marquis of Dalí de Púbol (11 May 1904 – 23 January 1989), known professionally as Salvador Dalí was a Spanish artist born in Figueras.

DalĂ was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters. His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in August 1931. DalĂ's expansive artistic repertoire included film, sculpture and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media.

After reading and watching his biography students are ready to start working. Their first task is to paint "The persistence of memory" respecting the original colors.

CARNIVALS! 19/20

As every year we have to creat our own costume.

The topic this year is: "Continents"

And we are... EUROPE!

Can you guess what are we going to become?

Working on... NESTOR BASTERRETXEA 17/18

Basterretxea was a Basque artist, born in Bermeo. In the 1950s and '60s, he spearheaded along with other artists such as Jorge Oteiza, Remigio Mendiburu or Eduardo Chillida an avant-garde artistic movement concerned with the crisis of Basque identity. His artworks have a special focus on large volumes and the concept of emptiness.

After talking about Basterretxea, students have started doing their first task: copy, draw and paint the image of the 6th slide in their drawing notebook.

Once the first task is done they have started with the second one: create a tridimensional mockup of the sculpture, in groups of 4.

VERY GOOD JOB!
