Indoor Games with Mr. Ridore

Make a Straw Plane

Materials

Steps

Cut 3 pieces of paper about 1″ wide and 5″ long.

Tape two of the pieces together “long ways” and then tape to form a circle.

Put tape on both sides to secure the circle.

Use the remaining piece to form a small circle and tape the ends together.

Now you have a large circle and a small circle.

Tape the straw to the inside of the circles placing the small circle at one end and the large circle at the other end.

And you’re done!

Now is the fun part!

Fly it just like you would a paper airplane but be amazed by how much better it flies!

Mr. Jean-Mary's Super Soaker Sponge Balls

The weather is shaping up to be much nicer than in weeks past! It is much more sunny out, and it's getting warmer. Water play is a must if we’re going to be outside. Lets make some Super Soaker Sponge Balls.

Materials

  • 6-8 sponges of different colors
  • cotton string
  • scissors

Cut each sponge lengthwise into 4 pieces.

Take 4 sponge pieces and lay them side by side and stack 4 more directly on top of them.

Take some string and tie around all the sponge pieces. Make sure to pull the string very tight and knot it. Cut off the excess string.

Dip sponge balls in buckets of water and have a great water fight.

Making Leaf People with Mr. Brewer

Next time you go outside for a walk or to play you can keep an eye out for different leaves or plants to collect and bring back inside. They can be green leaves or brown leaves or maybe some different flowers. Whatever you can find.

Here is my collection that I found right near my house.

On a blank piece of paper, arrange the leaves into a person. If you want to glue them down you can to make them stay. You can even add googly eyes if you have some. I just used a sharpie.

You can make anything—I also made a fish tank!
