A setup for JavaScript
The WorldWideWeb before JavaScript was a mystery to many, the creation of Netscape helped the world discover and unlock its unlimited potential.
Why was the Web Even Created?
To help the U.S. in the ongoing Cold War with the Soviet Union:
"The DoD’s Advanced Research Projects Agency started building a network of computers during the Cold War to keep defense leaders connected in case the Soviets ever decided to try to destroy our communications infrastructure via its satellite, Sputnik 1." (Six Technologies You Use All the Time ... Thanks to the DoD, Katie Lange).
After the Cold War, the Internet became public:
"All restrictions on the commercial use of the Internet were lifted in 1991. While it’s no longer owned by any single entity, the Internet continues to grow exponentially and change our world every day." (Six Technologies You Use All the Time ... Thanks to the DoD, Katie Lange).
What the WorldWideWeb portal looked like to people. (Cern, Rao, Achintya).
The Line Mode Browser, and the fatal flaws it had, made it impossible to use.
" Her [ Nicola Pellow] goal with the Line Mode Browser was to create something versatile, flexible, and interoperable. What she ended up with was a text-only, grayscale browser that could only be accessed via the command line and required at least rudimentary knowledge of computer science to even get installed. "(The History of the Web, Jay Hoffmann).
The WorldWideWeb, A Precursor of JavaScript
The WorldWideWeb was the first of its kind, something that changed how the web was seen.
Had a difficult GUI to maneuver.
December 25, 1990 “Tim Berners-Lee releases WorldWideWeb (later Nexus) on Christmas day, the first ever browser for the web. It is far from primitive, featuring a built-in HTML editor alongside graphical features. However, it is only available on NeXT machines and fails to gain much traction.” (The History of the Web, Jay Hoffmann).

The Creation of Netscape
When Netscape released there first version, it allowed general access to get its first taste at what the web was really like.
“Netscape was the first company to attempt to capitalize on the emerging World Wide Web. It was founded under the name Mosaic Communications Corporation on April 4, 1994, the brainchild of Jim Clark who had recruited Marc Andreessen as co-founder and Kleiner Perkins as investors.” (Netscape, Wikipedia).
“The company's first product was the web browser, called Mosaic Netscape 0.9, released on October 13, 1994. Within four months of its release, it had already taken three-quarters of the browser market. It became the main browser for Internet users in such a short time due to its superiority over other competition” (Netscape, Wikipedia).
