Newsela: Houses texts about a wide variety of subjects at multiple reading levels (sign-in required for access to additional content)
Common Lit: A large collection of fiction and nonfiction texts (sign-in required for access to additional content)
Readworks.org: Large collection of fiction and nonfiction texts with additional reading comprehension supports (free parent account required)
General Reading Resources
Reading Ally - All students in a Reading class have access to Learning Ally at this time. This is a great way to listen to audiobooks. If students need help access the books please contact your reading teacher.
Audible - You can also find audio books free at Audible. The books categories range from "littlest listeners" to "literary classics" and everything in between.
Free Rice - As you play Free Rice and answer questions right, advertisements appear on your screen. When you see one of these advertisements, you trigger a financial payment to the World Food Programme (WFP) to support its work saving and changing lives around the world. Categories include English, Humanities, Science, Math, Language Learning, Geography, and new category Coronavirus: Know the Facts.
Quizlet - Create your own electronic flashcard deck or access already created ones. Categories include Languages, Arts and Humanities, Science, Math, and Social Science.
Scholastic - Scholastic is offering free Learn at Home activities for grades 6-12 on all kinds of topics.

Vocabulary.com - Search for individual words, find a list of words in a book you are reading, create your own list of words to learn, or find a list your teacher has created. Learn and practice words with adaptive learning games. It's an app too! (Free student or parent account required unless your teacher has already created one for you.)
