Our Teachers

Spence White has been director of Cavalier Theatre since 2010. Prior to teaching, his acting work includes Hamlet on Broadway with Ralph Fiennes (1995 Tony Nominee, Best Revival of a Play), roles at The Guthrie Theater (Minneapolis), Dallas Theater Center, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Lincoln Center Institute, The Lost Colony, and nine Texas Shakespeare Festival productions. TV work includes NBC's "Law & Order," "All My Children," "One Life to Live," and several national commercials. A 1986 graduate of E. C. Glass, he holds a B.F.A. from Southern Methodist University and an M.F.A. from the Graduate Acting Program at NYU. In 2016, he was named Bedford County Public Schools and Virginia Region 5 Teacher of the Year.

Niki White is Director of Drama at Forest Middle School, and has served as Choreographer of Cavalier Theatre productions since 2010. She was the Kid Wrangler at Broadway's The Lion King from 1999-2010. Regional theatre work includes The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and three TheatreWorks USA touring productions. She has taught acting at The AFA's Encore Youth Theatre and Missoula Children's Theatre, and is the founder/CEO of ala niki Handmade Candy. A native of Big Spring, Texas, she holds a B.F.A. from Southern Methodist University.

DaShay Glover (Vocal Music Director) is a graduate of Liberty University with a degree in Music/Choral Performance with a concentration in Piano Performance. During his time there, he studied with Dr. Samuel Wellman. After his graduation, he moved to Ithaca, NY to study piano with Dr. Jennifer Hayghe. While studying at Ithaca College, he performed in a composition recital, a Gospelfest with a full orchestra and a 250 piece choir, and a composition recital at Cornell University. In 2014 he was an accompanist apprentice with Opera Roanoke where he frequently accompanied the other apprentice artists in different programs. He has been vocal music director for Tarzan, Mary Poppins Jr, Aladdin Jr, West Side Story, and Peter Pan Jr at the Academy Center of the Arts. He has also music directed Batboy the Musical, Jekyll and Hyde, Grey Gardens, The Evil Dead, Spamalot, and Bubble Boy with Wolfbane Productions. In December of 2015, DaShay was invited to performed at the White House for one of the Christmas tours. Before working at Jefferson Forest High School, he was the Choral director at Heritage High School and Sandusky Middle School.
