Our Teachers

Spence White has been director of Cavalier Theatre since 2010. Prior to teaching, his acting work includes Hamlet on Broadway with Ralph Fiennes (1995 Tony Nominee, Best Revival of a Play), lead roles at The Guthrie Theater (Minneapolis), Dallas Theater Center, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Lincoln Center Institute, The Lost Colony, and nine Texas Shakespeare Festival productions. TV work includes NBC's "Law & Order," "All My Children," "One Life to Live," and several national commercials. A 1986 graduate of E. C. Glass, he holds a B.F.A. from Southern Methodist University and an M.F.A. from the Graduate Acting Program at NYU. In 2016, he was named Bedford County Public Schools and Virginia Region 5 Teacher of the Year.

Niki White is Director of Drama at Forest Middle School, and has served as Choreographer of Cavalier Theatre productions since 2010. She was the Kid Wrangler at Broadway's The Lion King from 1999-2010. Regional theatre work includes The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and three TheatreWorks USA touring productions. She has taught acting at The AFA's Encore Youth Theatre and Missoula Children's Theatre, and is the founder/CEO of ala niki Handmade Candy. A native of Big Spring, Texas, she holds a B.F.A. from Southern Methodist University.
