LMI data is extremely useful in helping us understanding how labour markets work, and is important when making sense of changing ecomonic situations- locally, nationally and globally. It is used to help predict future employment trends, the demand for jobs, the skills needed and earnings potential. It also takes into account technological advances which may affect the longevity of an industry.
