A Career describes our journey through life, learning and work. We need to actively develop our careers to make the best of them. This process of career development takes skill as well as knowledge and the right attitude. Individuals need to work on career development skills throughout their lives (CDI Framework 2020)

The opportunity for all pupils to broaden their career knowledge and develop their confidence in making informed and realistic career management choices
Accessible and up-to-date information, advice and guidance on a wide range of professions and potential careers choices
Support to pupils in understanding their potential strengths, qualities, skills and experience for the world of work
We do this through the following activities which are embedded into the school programme:
Lead on 6th Form UCAS process and university, guidance and application management
Advice, guidance and support with international university applications
Careers Seminars (visiting and online speakers)
Annual Universities and Careers Fair (Spring Term)
1-1 Careers Appointments for Careers Exploration available to all year groups at any time
Providing resources, opportunities, research and action plans to help pupils make decisions on their career choices
Guidance in planning meaningful gap year experiences to develop life and employability skills
Careers and Employability lessons for FY pupils through our Flourish Project
Supporting ideas for work experience (to be taken outside of term time)
Engaging with employers, alumni and parents to support our careers engagement programme
Meetings with parents and pupils to help develop their career path ideas and plans for beyond Bede's
L6 Futures Week (Summer Term)
Regular Careers Bulletin for parents and pupils
U5 PSHE Careers and Employability Units
CV Writing, Cover Letters, Mock interviews and Interview Techniques
