Bardy Brats

Hello Bardy Parents!

The Bardy Boys, Nancy Shrews, and Bedlam Brats are back. It's been a while, so let me introduce myself. I am Shannon Dery, currently the Drama teacher at Beaverton High School and director of Thespian Troupe 1634, but before this career I was a pass-the-hat performer on the Faire Circuit.

My first Faire was at the age of 11, in Agoura, California. Weekend after weekend, I watched the best shows ever put on a Faire stage, it was there that my love of broad, bawdy, historically themed theater began. Since then, I've performed with the Reduced Shakespeare Co., played the Lord Mayor at the Northern California Faire in Novato, was a founding member of Sound & Fury, and in between played hundreds of roles on stage and street all over the world.

In my capacity as a Drama teacher, I have seen how students take to the broad, Fairestyle of theater that only a Faire can provide. My goal is to help bring up a new generation of Faire performers, and to provide Faire goers with the old-school narrative shows that I loved as a kid. All our shows are the old shows I used to do on the California circuit and are Faire-tested and family friendly (mostly…)
