Jog-a-thon is Friday, September 26. This is a huge fundraiser for our school (that also happens to improve students' health). Students run/jog/walk/skip around our school track during their Specials time. Students typically complete from 8 to 20 laps depending on their age and/or fitness level (4 laps is a mile).
Obstacle Course Weeks are between April 27 and May 6. The annual student-favorite Obstacle Course will be set up to use during PE classes. Dates are subject to change (but not much).
Field Day is Friday, June 5. Mark it on your calendars. Many of you know, the success of Field Day relies on amazing parent volunteers. We will send out a request for volunteers in early May.
Please remember to have your child wear appropriate clothing and shoes on days that his/her class has PE. Appropriate shoes are shoes that have closed toes and heels. This is for safety and performance reasons. Crocs, sandals, flip-flops, boots, cleats, high-heels, etc. are highly discouraged because of the potential for injuries and/or damaging the gym floor. You can always check the Specials Calendar to see which classes come to PE each day.
Students have PE once every four school days.
