Mr. Evans

Loves the color blue, Survivor, and pasta dishes

Welcome to my "about me" page! My name is Jake Evans and I am one of the Physical Educators at Sato. Here, you'll learn a little about who I am and my journey leading up to this point in time. In 8th grade, I decided I wanted to become a PE teacher which was no surprise to my Mother (a now retired teacher of 35 years). I graduated from Beaverton High School, then went on to earn my Bachelors of Science with a focus in Physical Education at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. I am in my 3rd year of teaching and love every minute of it because I get to interact with kids and teach them about the wonderful world of physical activity. PE always came naturally to me as I played sports when I was younger (soccer until 8th grade, track & field all through college). I strive to give kids the physical, cognitive, and behavioral skill set to be able to be physically active and fit throughout their whole lives. Before Sato, I taught in Sherwood, McMinnville, Portland, and Puerto Rico.

In my spare time, I like to:

  • Spend time with my Wife, Annalise.
  • Play on my bass guitar. My favorite band (and the best band of all-time) is Rush!
  • Go on runs, shoot hoops, dribble a soccer ball, or throw shot/disc
  • Participate in scouting events.
  • Play video games that are not Fortnite.
  • Coach throwing at Beaverton High School. I am a particular expert at the shot put and discus events and will be entering my 4th season coaching (2nd with BHS).
  • Root for: Portland Trailblazers, Portland Timbers, Oregon Ducks, Linfield Wildcats, Seattle Seahawks, United States Mens & Women's National Soccer Team, Boston Red Sox, and Washington Nationals.
