We offer self-paced theory and speedbuilding courses with individualized instruction + guided coaching for anyone at any level in their steno journey, whether you're just starting out with theory or trying to get your RMR certification, and everything in between - and we keep it
positive, uplifting, motivating, and FUN!

Theory Course ($157/month) - enrollment closed
Beast Mode Theory is unique - it's not a fully realtime-ready, nor a fully conflict-free theory, and we believe it's better for students/new reporters. You won't struggle to write in shorthand, and you'll receive guided instruction on every aspect of stenotype theory from a working reporter who's been teaching various subjects over the last decade.
If you need help acquiring a steno machine, our Admin Team can help connect you with resources. And if you need help getting your machine connected with your software, our Lead Instructor April will help you do that before you start your course! Let us work together towards your success and your career.
Speedbuilding Course, speeds 40-260+ wpm ($157 month) (includes homework, testing, and transcript feedback)
This course kicks it into high gear and is for anyone who has finished theory in court reporting school who wants to supplement their instruction, or for the solo student who's doing it on their own - we're here to help! Once you are writing at least 180 wpm, we will place you with working reporters to complete your intern hours. We will continue the English/medical/legal/technology lessons to review and prepare you for your state and/or national certification's WKT, if applicable. We will continue your software lessons to ensure you can prepare a transcript on your own when you start working, and we will help you with job placement if you would like introductions to local freelance firms in your area. We can also help with preparing you for applying to court and your interview process.
Homework Course, speeds 40-260+ wpm ($107 month) (transcript feedback included; does not include testing)
If all you need is structured homework assignments, this is your course. We'll give you weekly assignments in Q&A, jury charge, literary, finger drills, names/numbers, and more. All homework assignments will receive feedback on their submitted transcripts. Please note this course does NOT include testing. If you'd like homework and testing, the Beast Mode Course includes both along with feedback.
Testing Course, speeds 40-260+ wpm ($107 month) (includes transcript feedback; does not include homework)
If all you need is regular testing, this is your course. We'll give you weekly tests in Q&A, jury charge, literary, and the optional 4-voice, pending availability. All submitted tests will receive feedback. Please note this course does NOT include homework assignments. If you'd like homework and testing, the Beast Mode Course includes both along with feedback.
A la carte tests can be purchased for $7 each. Please fill out the enrollment form to order your tests.
Transcript Feedback Course, speeds 40-260+ wpm ($57 month) (does not include homework nor testing; you supply practice/school testing transcripts for feedback)
If you'd like feedback on your work, whether it be from practice, tests, or otherwise, this is for you. You'll supply your transcripts and will receive detailed feedback on them. This Transcript Feedback Course is good for one transcript, up to 10 pages, per day, Monday through Friday, for the whole month. June 2024 has exactly 20 business days, so that's 20 transcripts of feedback, up to 10 pages each. You can splice different assignments/tests together to comprise your 10 pages; but the max per day is 10 pages. Allowable pages do not accumulate and roll over to the next month. Use them during the month you've paid for, and start afresh the following month. If you'd like a higher max than 10 pages, email me and we can discuss your needs and design a package for you that meets those needs.
Individual Coaching, speeds Theory through 40-260+ wpm ($45 per hour) (does not include homework nor testing)
Custom coaching is what Beast Mode Steno is all about. Court reporting is never one size fits all, and we'll figure out what you need to succeed. Whether you're a machine shorthand student or a voice writing student, we can help. Coaching is available for software training in Eclipse and Case CATalyst.
