Mr Knopick; JAGS
JAGS Pillar: Investigate the World
My favorite overall moment from Freshman year is undoubtedly the Heifer trip. My friends and I got to do a variety of things including explore the town, destroy everyone in four square, hike around a creepy cave, and temporarily live in a third world country. The whole "living in Mozambique" thing had to be the best part about that trip. Not only were there about 30 students crammed into two rooms, but we also played a very intestine game of Harry Potter themed Uno before "lights out".
Aside from all the fun things we experienced it was also a really educational trip. Getting a glimpse of how people on the other side of the world live was really eye opening. This trip also brought all of us together; I grew close with people I had never even met before. Negotiating for food and protecting water balloon babies brings out another side of people.

Mr Preston; JAGS Biology
JAGS Pillar: Investigate the World
Although it was disgusting, I would have to say that my favorite Biology memory was the frog dissection. I was absolutely terrified and refused to touch the frog guts. I actually think someone in my class found eggs in their frog. I know we were supposed to have our phones out, but we needed to document that moment (sorry Mr Preston).
It was definitely interesting to learn about how frogs work and tie in all of the information we had been learning throughout the course of the year. I can now confidently say that I will not be going into either the medical, or scientific field in the future.
Fantasy Football Week Photo
First quarter 2022
Mr Marlett; JAGS World History
JAGS Pillar: Recognize Perspectives
Mr. Marlett's class was always an adventure. There was not a single day that we were bored. But, I would have to say that my favorite memory from World History was when we were learning about World War II. The manner in which Mr Marlett went about teaching was my favorite thing about JAGS. Every day there would be different games and activities instead of boring notes.
For the WWII unit, my friends and I got to represent the country Poland during the war. Learning about how the war started and what happened to each country specifically was fascinating. I probably learned and will retain the most information from that class. Feel free to ask me anything about The French Revolution.
Familia Speeches
Second quarter 2022
Senora Dria; Spanish 3
JAGS Pillar: Communicate Ideas
My favorite Spanish 3 class memory was talent show day. Each group, or familia as we called them, would have to present their talents to the class. Most groups did a dance or a fashion show (which were all hilarious) but my group did a painting. But not a normal one, a painting where one persons arms would be guiding, but they couldn't see, so the rest of us would be giving directions. (It was a lot funnier than I described it) To add to that, WE WON!
As someone who has been taking Spanish since sixth grade, it is always so much fun to learn about different cultures and languages. The document attached does not correlate with the talent show, but it is interesting to look at how much I have grown when writing and speaking in spanish.
Genius Project Presentation
Fourth quarter 2023
Mrs DePriest; JAGS English 9
JAGS Pillar: Take Action
My favorite memory from English class was when we got to create out Genius Projects. I decided to make a podcast, which became very popular very quickly. I got to go around asking teachers, and other JAGS students random questions. This was so fun because I got to come up with whatever prompts I wanted, and everyone ended up loving it!
This project also helped me grow my creativity because I was able to feel free in the way I worked. I got to work at my own pace on something I was genuniely passionate about. This also furthered my love for editing and creating both film and audio.
