JAGS Pillar: Investigate the World
One specific event from senior year that I am most proud of was being awarded Summa Cum Laude. Not only is graduating with a JAGS Diploma- a huge accomplishment, but getting this award on top of that meant so much to me. I will be going into the world and workforce with greater knowledge through both JAGS and Summa.
Maintaining good grades throughout my high school experiences is something I have worked for and getting to experience this honor with my friends was the cherry on top. I also got to honor one of my JAGS teachers, Mr MarLett, at the ceremony, as well as the school's athletic trainer Tricia Hawke.

JAGS Pillar: Communicate Ideas
When I was signing up for classes at the beginning of the year I specifically requested to be in Mr MarLett's CCP Government class, not because of the coursework, but because of the teacher. What I didn't realize at the time was that I would also love the class itself. I learned so much that semester about American politics and how our government actually functions, but writing my Term Paper was one of my favorite assignments.
For this assignment, we were able to write about any political topic of our choice and create a new law to be added to the United States Constitution. I chose to write about removing gun violence and protecting students from school shootings. This is definitely something I am passionate about and enjoyed getting to opportunity to research it further.
Independent Novel Project Essay
Second quarter 2025
Mrs Willams; AP English Literature
JAGS Pillar: Recognize Perspectives
Throughout the year I believe we read at least 8 books and did assignments for each one, on top of normal classwork, but my favorite book and assignment went with our Independent Novel Project. For this project we were each allowed to chose whatever novel we wanted and write an AP Essay about it.
The book I chose was The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, which is told from the perspective of a special needs 17 year old boy. Throughout the book he was investigating the murder of his neighbors dog, as learning more about himself. I was grateful to be able to read and write about something I was interested in.
