9th Grade: 2019-2020

I wasn't in JAGS my freshman year because of my involvement in JSA, but after seeing how JAGS was able to help the community and all the learning opportunities it gave, I knew I had to try it out.

Due to Covid, I wasn't able to finish out my school year in person, so I applied for JAGS digitally with the help of JAGS teacher, Mrs. Mazur!

FRESHMAN ARTIFACTS AND REFLECTIONS

Camp Staff/Work Crew

Over the last weekend of October, I volunteered as camp staff for RUOK. I helped to make and serve all the meals, set up all the events, tear down and set up the main room, administer all the activities. I worked the entire weekend and had a great time!

JYFA

Throughout the fall, I volunteered as a Youth Cheer coach with our Jackson Youth Cheer program. I would go to their games, create material, teach the material, control the music, and manage ten young girls.

NRG leadership

My freshman year I was heavily involved in my church's youth group. I had been a student in it from 5th grade through 8th grade. Once I had "graduated" from the program I was able to come back as a leader. I was there every single Wednesday from 6:00-9:00. I would come straight from cheer practice to the program. I was in charge of the presentations and skits, I basically ran the entertainment. I continued this through the entire year, but once we got quarantined I didn't feel comfortable returning to such a large group of people. I went to the small gathering of just the leaders, but when it came to the actual event, I stopped going.
