Ages 14-15
Can work 3 hours a day on school days.
Can work 8 hours a day on Weekends.
Cannot work more than 18 hours a week while school is in session.
When school is NOT in session, student can work 8 hours a day and no more than 40 hours a week.
Work hours must be between 7am - 7 pm, and must not be during school hours.
Ages 16-17
Can work 4 hours a day on school days.
Can work 8 hours a day on Weekends.
Cannot work more than 48 hours a week while school is in session.
When school is NOT in session, student can work 8 hours a day and no more than 48 hours a week.
Work hours must be between 5am - 10 pm, and must not be during school hours. On any evening preceding a non-school day, work hours are from 5am - 12:30 am.

Pick up a work permit application from Mrs. Wilson in the library OR request a work permit application by emailing Mrs. Wilson. Email: ashley_wilson@bearvalleyusd.org
Fill out the "Minors Information" section on the work permit application and sign where it says "Student Signature."
Get parent/guardian signature.
Have employer fill out the employer section and get their signature on the work permit application.
Student must bring completed work permit application back to Mrs. Wilson at the high school.
Mrs. Wilson will issue students official work permit. Student needs to be present in order to sign the official permit.
Copies will be made of permit application and Official Permit.
Bring both the official work permit and a copy of the permit application back to your employer for them to keep on file.
Work permits are valid until the beginning of the next school year or when you turn 18, whichever comes first. Work permits will be revoked if a student's GPA becomes lower than 2.0.
