Year Two went on an adventure to space. They met an alien and talked about the different planets and visited some of them.
We had lots of fun getting creative and expressing ourselves!
Year Two had a visit from the Scarlett Oak Theatre Co. with the Zoo That Comes To You.
We learned about endangered animals and what we can do to care for the planet.

To support Children in Need, we dressed up in spotty outfits and took part in a sponsored dance. Great dance moves everyone!

As part of our geography learning, Year two walked to Hanham Mount. We saw the Beacon and found out when it was built. We stood where John Wesley spoke to 1500 people looking over Kingswood, Hanham and Bristol. What a beautiful site just on our doorstep!
Care BR chose Year Two to make Christmas cards to give to care homes and carers in the community. We decorated the front of our cards with baubles and reindeers by finger printing using paint.
Yr 1, 2 and EYFS had a special visit from Reverand Beverly this week. She told us all about the message of Christmas and gave us time to reflect and share what we love most about the festive period.
As part of our English unit on instructions, Year 2 made a Christmas Yule Log. They followed the instructions to mkae choclate icing. They looked and tasted yummy!
As part of our term 3 topic, Year 2 took part in Space Day. They had great fun coming in, dressed up as aliens, astronauts and even a spaceship. They tasted food like astronaut would eat and flew their own rockets. It was great fun!
Our first lesson on Measures was a practical lesson where children were given the opportunity to explore measuring mass, length and capacity. The children enjoyed working in pairs, reading scales and measuring objects with rulers.

To complete our topic about the Great Fire of London, children were invited to wear clothing from the Stuart period. They came as bakers, street urchins, Samuel Pepys and diary writers. During the day, the children made and ate bread, completed a treasure hunt and recreated pudding lane with their houses they made as part of their DT learning and the fire. It was great fun!.

Children took part in the annual sports day. They had great fun competing in a variety of team and individual activities. They enjoyed cheering on the grown ups and teachers in their own races.

It was play day and the children had great fun! They enjoyed throwing spaghetti, playing games, getting wet, riding bikes, dancing to the music and bouncing on the bouncy castle.
The children also completed some fun maths, a book review and colouring in class.

It was Jungle Day and we took part in a drama workshop. We also had a visitor, an iguana. We completed some jungle themed activities during the day.

As part of our cultural passort, Year 2 children learnt about 3D Dance troupe and watched a dance performed by some of their students. Then Year 2 learnt the dance based on Samba moves and performed it with 3D Dance.
