Meet the Teacher

Hello and thanks for stopping by!  My name is Jennie Bryan, and it is my privilege to lead the Brunswick County Schools Teacher Scholar Academy for the 25-26 school year.  I am passionate about public education and am excited to have the opportunity to invite the best and brightest of Brunswick County's students to join me in this most meaningful profession.  I believe that #BrunswickBuilt teachers will be excellent educators for our future BCS students!

Before joining the teaching staff at The COAST, I spent most of my career in the social studies department at South Brunswick High School.  I am the 2020-2021 Brunswick County Schools Teacher of the Year and the 2021 Burroughs Wellcome Fund Southeast Region Teacher of the Year.  I've learned a lot about PK-12 education in the state of North Carolina through these experiences and am eager to share my experiences and expertise with my classrooms of future teachers!    

 A Tar Heel born and bred, I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a degree in History and from Wake Forest University with a Masters of Education. My husband and I have two daughters, Chloe (8) and Sydney (3), whose future teachers I hope to see sitting in my classroom!
