Brunswick Built Teachers
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
Brunswick County Schools is excited to offer the Brunswick Built Teachers Scholarship. BCS seniors, BCS graduates currently enrolled in or transitioning to teacher licensure programs, or Alternative Licensure BCS teachers are eligible to apply. The application cycle for 2025 will reopen in January.
Scholarship Eligibility and Information for BCS Seniors and BCS Graduates enrolled in a Teacher Licensure Program
BCS Seniors or BCS graduates currently enrolled in or transitioning to teacher licensure programs at four year universities are eligible for an award of $2,500 of up to four years, for a maximum award of $10,000.
Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (unweighted)
Brunswick Built Teacher Scholars may use the scholarship funds at any North Carolina institution of higher education with a teacher licensure program.
Brunswick Built Teacher Scholars may seek licensure in any K-12 licensure area.
Funds may be used to cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, and expenses related to obtaining licensure.
Brunswick Built Teacher Scholars will commit to teaching in a Brunswick County Schools classroom for each academic year of scholarship funds received. Scholars have seven years from graduation to fulfill their commitment. Failure to fulfill to commitment to teaching in a BCS classroom will result in repayment of scholarship funds.

Brunswick Community College Graduates who also graduated from a BCS high school and are transitioning to a teacher licensure program at a four year university are eligible for an award of $5,000 for up to two years, for a maximum award of $10,000.

Brunswick Built Teacher Scholars may use the scholarship funds at any North Carolina institution of higher education with a teacher licensure program.
Brunswick Built Teacher Scholars may seek licensure in any K-12 licensure area.

BCS alternative licensure (AL) teachers already holding a Bachelor's Degree pursuing preparation for a North Carolina teaching license are eligibile for an award of $2500.
Applicants must have a minimum 2.7 GPA.
Brunswick Built AL Teacher Scholars may use the scholarship at any North Carolina institution of higher education with an educator prep program.
Brunswick Built AL Teacher Scholars may seek licensure in any K-12 licensure area.
Funds may be used to cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, and expenses related to obtaining licensure.
Upon receiving a Clear Professional Teaching License, Brunswick Built AL Teaher Scholars will fulfill scholarship agreement through one year of service in a Brunswick County Schools classroom. Failure to fulfill commitement will result in repayment of scholarship funds.
